Job description and requirements • Managing the middle tier development in Progress • Participating in the design of the new system. • Working with front-end developers in the development process. • Performing some database administration tasks. • Performing basic analysis of functional and business requirements. • Working independently to review proposed changes and developing practical solutions that enhance service levels and improve functionality while maintaining necessary security. • Participating in code review. • Working with systems staff and senior management for requirements specification, coding, enhancement, and documentation of applications. • Providing required documentation and participating in architecture and requirement reviews to ensure that the solutions comply with standards and use approved technologies Object Modeling and Specification: UML Coding Language: Progress Open Edge ABL Programming Environment: Progress Open Edge Architecture Source Code Management: SubVersion Platform: Windows OS, . Net Framework Skills, Qualification & Development • Bachelor’s Degree or technical diploma and 3-5 years experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. • Experience with Progress ABL. • Experience with Windows OS, .Net Framework. • Exposure to application modeling in UML. • Excellent planning, organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills. • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. • Ability to multi-task, schedule, balance priorities, and meet strict deadlines. • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team. • Experience in Retail, e-commerce applications would be an asset. • Experience with Progress Application Server development is an asset. • Experience with Progress Open Edge Architect is an asset |
